With Michael Hillstrand appointed General Manager, CM Shredders is bringing together its Sarasota manufacturing headquarters with established manufacturing, service, parts and technical support capabilities in Canada, Thailand and the United Kingdom to accelerate growth and protect customer uptime.
CM Shredders has appointed Michael Hillstrand as General Manager, marking the next phase in the company’s global growth and operational development.
Based at CM Shredders’ headquarters and manufacturing facility in Sarasota, Florida, Hillstrand will lead Finance, Engineering, Operations and Sales. He will also work across the wider Shred-Tech organization to align the group’s international manufacturing and support resources into a more coordinated global operating platform.
The infrastructure is already in place. The priority now is to deploy it more effectively across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, giving customers faster access to technical expertise, critical parts, field service and lifecycle support.
“Michael was selected to lead, align and execute,” said Tom Macerollo, President of CM Shredders and Shred-Tech. “CM has the brand, the technology and the global infrastructure to lead this market. His role is to convert those strengths into faster execution, stronger customer support and measurable results.”
CM Shredders has built its reputation on heavy-duty tyre-recycling systems, proprietary knife technology and complete turnkey solutions engineered for demanding applications.
For customers, however, equipment value is measured by more than initial performance. It is measured through tonnes processed, consistent product quality, controlled operating costs and productive uptime.
“Our customers are not buying steel; they are investing in production, uptime and a technology partner that is expected to perform,” said Mario Vazquez, Sales and Marketing Director for CM Shredders. “Downtime destroys throughput, margin and return on capital. CM has the global engineering, manufacturing, parts and service infrastructure to respond quickly, solve problems decisively and keep customers producing. We are not competing to be another equipment supplier—we are competing to be the technology leader our customers rely on when performance matters most.”
Under Hillstrand’s leadership, CM will strengthen coordination between engineering, manufacturing, sales and aftermarket support, creating clearer accountability from initial system design through commissioning and long-term operation.
“CM Shredders has a proven product platform, a respected name and a strong global installed base,” Hillstrand said. “The opportunity is to raise the level of execution behind that equipment. We will move faster, improve accountability and ensure our worldwide capabilities deliver stronger operating performance for customers.”
